When California’s great reopening was in full swing last summer, the complementary meals and free-flowing kombucha taps that many Bay Area companies have long used to entice their prized employees to stay in the office were poised to make a comeback.
But new, increasingly infectious coronavirus variants helped to largely dash those hopes, along with a now ingrained remote working culture for much of the office workforce.
